HSE Report 2018
At Teijin Aramid, we aim to be transparent about the impact of our own activities on people and the environment, so we find it important to report on the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance of our production locations in the Netherlands (Twaron® production). This year’s report also highlights our views on developments around the globe and the impact of global issues such as climate change and waste, and what this means for us as a company. At Teijin Aramid, we’ve been practicing recycling for over 20 years. We safely and securely recycle materials such as end-of-life bullet-proof vests across the world, giving them a second life. This provides a circular solution for aramid waste, with guaranteed demilitarization, and enables our customers to better meet sustainability regulations. More information can be found in our leaflet on recycling.
Environment, Energy & Safety
We are working hard in a variety of ways to minimize our impact on the environment, use less energy, and generate less waste and emissions. Our environmental efforts, targets and achievements are detailed in our annual HSE report.
Certificates & statements
Compliance with relevant laws and regulations is an integral part of our way of working. We measure our performance and we are regularly audited by various bodies and the authorities. We aim to be transparent about how we work and therefore we publish various statements and certificates. These can be found here.
Eco-efficiency is measured across the whole value chain for a solution by evaluating the materials and their quantity, durability, performance, cost-efficiency and lifespan. Our aramid materials enable excellent eco-efficiency performance and lead to siginificant cost savings.
