Oil and gas operations place high demands on materials and systems. We support critical applications with para-aramid and meta-aramid solutions designed for high pressure, high temperature, and chemically demanding environments. Umbilicals
Offshore umbilicals play a key role in delivering power and control in subsea environments.
Twaron® and Technora® are used as braided reinforcement layers for thermoplastic hoses, contributing to lightweight and durable umbilical systems. Their high strength-to-weight ratio, resistance to temperature, chemicals, and fatigue, and high tensile modulus support long service life. Performance is validated with partners through extensive burst pressure and impulse fatigue testing.
Flowlines
Flowlines operating in deepwater environments must withstand high pressures, elevated temperatures, and sour service conditions over extended service periods.
Twaron® and Technora® ABC tapes are applied to reinforce flexible pipe structures. These solutions help reduce the risk of bird caging, deformation, and leakage, contributing to consistent performance and reliability in demanding offshore conditions.
Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes (RTP)
Reinforced thermoplastic pipes are widely used to transport oil, gas, hydrogen, and water in demanding onshore and offshore environments. Aramid-reinforced RTP designs offer lightweight, flexible, and corrosion-free performance.
Twaron® and Technora® enable reel-based transport and fast installation while withstanding high pressures, temperatures, and aggressive chemicals. This supports long-term operation and helps reduce installation and maintenance requirements.
Workwear and safety
Oil and gas operations expose personnel to risks such as flash fires and high heat.
Workwear incorporating Twaron® and Teijinconex® fibers is designed to help garments self-extinguish and maintain structural integrity during thermal exposure. Their inherent durability and low weight support long service life while allowing functional, comfortable protective clothing for use in demanding onshore and offshore environments.
