Twaron Next® Product Launch
Twaron Next®: The most sustainable para-aramid
Turning (aramid) waste into high-performance innovation
In November 2025, we introduced Twaron Next®, a high-performance para-aramid fiber that combines proven aramid strength with circular and bio-based raw materials. It meets the same exact standards customers have relied on for decades, while reducing production waste and carbon impact. Two pathways to lower environmental impact Twaron Next® is available in two distinct variants, each addressing a different sustainability priority:
Circular content variant: This fiber incorporates reclaimed aramid fibers recovered from waste through a controlled respinning process, reducing CO2 emissions up to 7% compared to our virgin Twaron®, and up to 25% compared to industry average.* The approach keeps material in active use, extending value and reducing waste. Customers pursuing closed-loop design now have a verified path to support those ambitions.

Bio-based feedstock variant: Produced using renewable feedstocks for the polymer backbone, this variant reduces dependence on fossil-based raw materials while maintaining full compatibility with existing specifications.
Developed using the ISCC PLUS mass balance approach, it serves as a drop-in alternative that allows immediate integration into established production processes. Both variants deliver the mechanical properties, thermal stability, and reliability of standard Twaron®.
A vision of circular material flow
"Circular thinking is central to how we design for the future" says Philip Altena, Director Sustainability. "With Twaron Next®, we've proven that reclaiming pre-consumer waste and transitioning to renewable feedstocks delivers the same performance with less environmental impact.”
