Trusted strength for ropes and cables
As offshore construction and subsea cable projects grow in scale and complexity, the need for stronger, lighter, and safer lifting solutions continues to increase. For more than 30 years, we have supported this shift by working with rope and cable manufacturers to develop aramids to reinforce slings, pendants, and hoisting ropes. Our materials combine high strength and stiffness with low weight and excellent fatigue resistance to support safe operations and enable greater lifting performance

Aramid fibers provide the strength and reliability required for lifting in demanding environments. Used in lifting slings, hoisting ropes, and crane pendants, our solutions combine low weight with high performance to support safe and efficient operation in offshore, maritime, and heavy industrial applications.

Hoisting ropes
Marine operations demand materials that can withstand constant mechanical stress, heat build-up, chemical exposure, and saltwater conditions. Reinforcement materials must maintain strength, reliability, and performance over time.
Technora® offers high tensile strength, excellent resistance to abrasion and chemicals, and stability in harsh marine environments. Its superior fatigue resistance supports safer and more efficient deep-sea hoisting operations, making it a proven choice for offshore, subsea construction, and marine research.

Crane pendants
As crane designs push for greater heights and heavier loads, traditional steel pendants face increasing challenges – added weight, corrosion, and reduced lifting efficiency. Pendant materials must maintain strength and stiffness while minimizing weight and low creep.
Twaron® provides a superior strength-to-weight ratio that addresses these challenges, delivering lightweight, corrosion-resistant performance in demanding lifting environments. With minimal elongation under load, Twaron® enhances lifting capabilities, improves operational efficiency, and supports the safety and longevity of modern crane systems.

Lifting slings
Heavy lifting slings operate under extreme conditions: high temperatures, abrasion, dynamic loads, and chemical exposure. Sling materials must maintain mechanical integrity, flexibility, and performance under continuous stress.
Twaron® and Technora® deliver exceptional strength, chemical stability, and resistance to abrasion and creep, supporting reliable performance in demanding environments. Being up to six times lighter than steel, our fibers enable easy handling, improving the efficiency and safety during the lifting operations.

Trusted development partner
Our regional technical account managers work closely with rope and cable manufacturers to help identify and apply the most suitable aramid solution. With support from our Research and Innovation Center (RIC) in the Netherlands, we provide guidance based on proven performance data and application-specific requirements. Over time, we have built a substantial database from extensive testing, including long-term studies for ropes and cables in static and dynamic conditions.
Customized solutions and technical support
We conduct comprehensive material testing, assessing both primary and secondary properties to ensure aramid performance under challenging conditions, such as high temperatures, variable humidity, UV exposure, and seawater environments. This thorough process protects performance consistency even when processes are adjusted. We are currently the only major aramid producer systematically offering this level of testing.
Performance validation
Our materials are tested under a wide range of conditions, including high temperatures, humidity, UV exposure, and seawater contact. For ropes and cables, we also evaluate resistance to abrasion and the effects of dynamic loading. This level of testing supports consistent performance, even when processing conditions change. Among major aramid producers, we are the only one to systematically provide this depth of validation.
Certification process support
Once a solution is selected, we work with customers and partners to meet the necessary certification requirements. We maintain a continuous validation approach to ensure performance is assessed at every stage of development.
Assurance of quality
Our Research and Innovation Center defines the quality standards used throughout production. By overseeing both materials and processes, our R&D team ensures that every product meets the specifications required for ropes and cables, providing consistent performance and reliable supply.
