Energy efficiency​ 

In spring, our Delfzijl plant completed the largest maintenance stop in its history, running more than 12 weeks. Production volume declined during the shutdown, temporarily raising the Energy Efficiency Index. The investment strengthens long-term operational efficiency and safety for the facility.​ ​ At Kleefsewaard, the discontinuation of JetSpun products production delivered substantial energy efficiency gains by concentrating operations on core pulp activities.​ Our factory in Emmen maintained consistent energy performance, showing steady progress throughout the year.​ ​ 

Energy efficiency index​ 

We measure energy performance using the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI): total energy per ton of product per site, against a 2005 baseline. Projects to reduce energy consumption continue into 2026.
