Sustainable thinking and acting matter deeply to us. With our planet facing big challenges, now is the time for companies and industries to work together to find solutions. We believe in measurable impact, transparency and collaborative problem-solving as the most effective way to contribute to a sustainable society. It’s why we challenge ourselves daily to improve our high-performance products and processes. At Teijin Aramid, we continue to meet society’s needs today, without compromising the future.
Towards a circular chain
Our goal is a fully sustainable and circular aramid chain. The aramid life cycle starts with our production processes and our efforts to reduce energy and raw materials consumption. It continues with our light, strong and durable aramids acting as sustainability multipliers for our customers and end users. And when our aramids have reached end life, we aim to close the chain by recycling our aramids and give them a second life.

Sustainable solutions for customers and end users
Car dashboards, fiber-optic cables, tires, conveyor belts, mooring lines, slings. These are just some of the products that we’ve been able to turn into sustainability multipliers in their respective value chains. We collaborate closely with clients in many industries to develop solutions that not only meet technical requirements but also add environmental and financial value.Read more
Twaron® the sustainability multiplier
Although producing aramids like Twaron® is nowadays still an energy-intensive process. However, they act as sustainability multipliers further along multiple value chains. Light, strong and durable, Twaron® extends the lifespan of dozens of applications and minimizes resource and energy requirements in the use phase. For example, in 2020 we helped prevent more than 255,600 tons of CO2 emissions using Twaron® in tires and conveyor belts. How Teijin Aramid is becoming more sustainable
Our Energy Transition Plan is unlocking significant energy savings and by replacing energy sources with more sustainable ones we are on course to achieve our goals. We are also piloting renewable carbon raw materials into our production processes, driving the use of renewables across our industry. Together with our customers we aim to make our customers product more sustainable. And finally, to fully close the aramid chain we’re collaborating on the recovery of used aramids so they can be reintroduced as raw materials into our production process.Read more
