Education

Chemistry is everywhere. Almost everything you do is related to chemistry: listening to music, making a call on your mobile, playing games on the computer, watching television and so on. It is all chemistry! We find it very important to make school children and students familiar with chemistry in an understandable and joyful way.

By sponsoring several projects related to education we aim to show students of all ages the variety of chemistry and Teijin Aramid. This way we hope to stimulate them to choose chemistry related studies so they eventually choose to work in the chemical industry. Below you can read more about our activities.

Primary schools

Technique tournament

Teijin Aramid sponsors this tournament where kids are competing in a game of succeeding best in running a technical setup for a professional jury. There is also a technique market where companies can tell about their activities. At our booth the children can participate in the activity ‘Who makes the longest thread?’ by spinning their own thread. In a safe way, our chemical process of making the aramid thread is simulated. More information about this event can be found on the Techniektoernooi website (in Dutch).

Chemistry put in practice

Want to execute your own exciting chemistry experiments? There are a lot of website available with plenty of information on chemistry, experiments and much more:

MBO/HBO/WO (up to bachelor/master)

To show students and graduates the world of Teijin Aramid and its products and to show the possibilities of following internships and working at Teijin Aramid we organize different activities to stay in contact with the students. An example of one of these activities is sponsoring of students associations and students projects such as the Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering project (DARE).

  • Technologisch Gezelschap, students association of Technische Universiteit Delft.
  • T.D. Bernouilli, students association of the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
  • S.V. ‘Jan Pieter Minckelers’, students association of the chemistry faculty of the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven.
  • T.S.G. Alembic, students association of the Universiteit Twente in Enschede.
  • De Chemische Binding, study association  for chemistry & chemical engineering
  • KU Leuven and University of Michigan; the teams compete in the ‘Challenger’ category of this year’s Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.
  • TU Delft,  students rocket project Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering (DARE), Stratos III
