Arnhem, The Netherlands, February 05, 2020 – Teijin Aramid has announced its participation at Enforce Tac 2020 in Nuremberg, Germany. The manufacturer of premium aramids and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) will showcase how Twaron® and Endumax® can improve both protection and mobility in security equipment. At booth 12-456, visitors can find out why security experts in the police, justice, frontier defense, duty, military and armed forces rely on these highly resistant and lightweight basic materials.
For successful law enforcement operations, it is key that security experts can trust their equipment. Above all, it must keep them safe but also mobile. For this, their equipment should be based on high-performance materials that offer excellent strength, high resistance, comfort and low weight.
Teijin’s Twaron® and Endumax® can both provide these properties. Their unique strength, excellent energy absorption, and elasticity provide outstanding ballistic stopping power and protection against sharp objects. These properties enable advanced turnout gear – such as bullet- or stab-resistant vests, body armor, shields, and helmets – for maximum protection against a range of threats. Further, Twaron® can also empower police and military uniforms with its inherent heat- and flame-resistance.
Both Twaron® and Endumax® are also used to armor vehicles, where they can deliver a weight reduction of 30-60% compared with ballistic steel, providing increased maneuverability. In combination with Twaron® and Endumax®’s high strength and energy absorption, this weight reduction enables solutions with unrivaled protection-to-weight ratios.
