Technician WTB
At the Maintenance department in Emmen we have an exciting vacancy for the position of Technician WTB. As a Technician WTB you are the pivot in carrying out complex preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, expansions and modifications, making sure that everything runs in accordance with orders and HSE standards. You will advise colleagues and external parties, carry out accurate inspections and resolve faults effectively. In addition, you coordinate technically complex projects and monitor progress. Your tasks and challenges:
- Assess and resolve complicated malfunctions, including proposing effective solutions.
- Coordinate the manufacture and repair of mechanical components and installations according to instructions and drawings.
- Provide input to the Maintenance Engineer to evaluate the preventive maintenance plan, taking into account OEE, QHSE and integral maintenance costs.

Role and department
Emmen is home to the largest aramid plant in the world and we work with about 700 colleagues. We spin the polymer we make in our Delfzijl plant into Twaron yarn through an advanced process. Part of the production output goes to our finishing plant, where we process it to the customer's requirements. This is done in various ways, for example by processing it into pulp, twisting it, cutting it into short pieces or applying a special coating.
As a technician, you advise colleagues and external parties, ensuring that inspections and preventive maintenance are performed accurately, and malfunctions are resolved effectively. You assess complicated or structurally occurring malfunctions and propose effective solutions. In addition, you coordinate and monitor the progress of technically complex projects. You also have the responsibility to have mechanical engineering parts, tools and installations manufactured and repaired according to given instructions and drawings. In your role, you will provide input to the Maintenance Engineer in evaluating the preventive maintenance plan, taking into account OEE, QHSE and integral maintenance costs. In addition, you will provide professional instructions to technicians, including those from external parties.
Your profile
- You have a relevant completed technical education at MBO 4 level.
- You have experience as a technician WTB.
- You have 3-5 years of experience in coordinating and reporting activities. You have excellent communication skills.
- You like to work independently but can also work well together. Furthermore, you have knowledge of the operation of technical installations and their technical implementation.
- You have experience in reading technical documentation in German and English and in reading drawings.
