For our largest production site in Emmen, we are looking for an experienced and inspiring:
Senior Plant Manager (MT member)
In this strategic key role, you will have full responsibility for leading a complex, highly advanced technological production environment with approximately 450 employees. You will be part of the local management team (MT) and report directly to the Site Manager. You will play a pivotal role in realizing the site’s long-term strategy, operational excellence, and organizational development.
Your responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for achieving the plant’s production, quality, cost, and safety objectives.
- Shaping and safeguarding a strong safety culture and a stable, performance-driven organization.
- Translating the site-wide strategy into multi-year plans, annual plans, budgets, and KPI structures.
- Initiating, steering, and embedding improvement and change programs in the areas of process control, logistics, cost control, capacity, maintenance, and QHSE.
- Responsible for further professionalizing the organization, structure, and governance within the plant, including systems, procedures, maintenance strategy, and investment projects.
- Acting as a sparring partner to the Site Manager and actively contributing to site-wide policy, strategic choices, and long-term development as a member of the MT.
- Developing management and leadership capabilities within your organization and building a future-proof talent pipeline.
About the location and role
In Emmen, approximately 650 colleagues work at the largest aramid fiber factory in the world. The polymer produced in Delfzijl is processed here into Twaron® yarn through an advanced spinning process. Part of this production is further processed in our factory in Emmen.
As Senior Plant Manager, you are ultimately responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient achievement of the plant’s production, quality, and organizational objectives. You lead a multidisciplinary management team (approximately 8 direct reports) and work closely with your MT colleagues to continuously improve performance, culture, and structure.
You combine in-depth technical and business expertise with strong, people-oriented leadership. You manage at a strategic level, are visible and approachable on the shop floor, and are able to provide clear direction in an environment with high demands on safety, quality, and continuity. You ensure effective decision-making, prioritization, and ownership, and guide the organization through further professionalization and change.
Your profile
- Strong senior leadership capabilities: strategic, connecting, decisive, people-oriented, and results-driven.
- Extensive, proven experience in the integrated management of large-scale and complex production organizations, preferably within the process industry.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of production, engineering, maintenance, QHSE, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Completed technical education at a minimum of bachelor’s or master’s level.
- Highly communicative, organizationally sensitive, and able to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
- Focused on continuous improvement, organizational development, and sustainable performance, with attention to both results and people.
