The role
As a Project Engineer E/I, you explore opportunities for new installations and improvements to existing equipment in the fields of electrical engineering, instrumentation, and process automation. You contribute to the future of the plant by initiating, engineering, and executing investment projects.

This role is part of the local Engineering team, which operates within the broader Maintenance organization and is responsible for improvement, replacement, and new construction projects.

What will you do as a Project Engineer?

  • Provide advice on innovations and improvements in instrumentation, electrical engineering, and process automation, with a strong focus on instrumentation.
  • Propose new solutions and ideas for project approach and execution, and contribute to further standardization within the department.
  • Independently manage multidisciplinary investment projects, including performing or outsourcing feasibility studies, reviewing their contents, and preparing investment proposals.
  • Request and evaluate quotations from third parties (with support from Procurement).
  • Ensure optimal coordination between different technical disciplines and departments, while monitoring the progress of the projects in your portfolio.
  • Ensure proper documentation of drawings and P&IDs for completed projects.
  • Represent your discipline in large-scale projects.

Approximately 275 employees work at our Delfzijl site. Here, in four independent chemical plants, we produce the para-aramid polymer that forms the basis of our high performance Twaron® fiber. After drying, the polymer is packaged and transported to our large production site in Emmen, where it is spun into Twaron®.

Your profile

You have at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Process Automation, Instrumentation & Control, or Industrial Electrical Engineering. With several years of experience in a similar role, you are capable of motivating others and transferring knowledge to colleagues, clients, and suppliers.

Additionally:

  • You have knowledge of instrumentation and control technologies.
  • You are familiar with process control systems such as PLCs and DCS.
  • You have experience with and/or an affinity for leading projects in a production environment.
  • You act as a technical gatekeeper for delivered engineering work.
  • You have strong command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • You recognize yourself in the following competencies: team player, strong organizational skills, independent, and results-oriented.
