Project Engineer WTB

The Role
You play an important role in realizing improvements and innovations to existing installations and equipment, with a strong focus on mechanical engineering. You deliver investment projects that meet the required standards, following company and safety guidelines, within the agreed timeframe and budget. You report directly to the Team Lead Engineering.
This position is part of the local Engineering team, which operates within the overarching Maintenance organization and works on improvement, replacement and new-build projects at Teijin Aramid’s production site in Delfzijl.
What will you do as Project Engineer?
- Advise on improvements and innovations related to (mechanical) installations
- Independently lead investment projects, including carrying out or outsourcing preliminary studies, developing technical solutions for mechanical engineering challenges, and preparing investment proposals
- Request and evaluate offers from external parties (supported by Procurement)
- Ensure optimal alignment between different disciplines and departments, while monitoring progress of the projects in your portfolio
- Ensure that drawings and P&IDs of completed projects are properly (updated and) documented

Approximately 275 employees work at our Delfzijl site. Here, in four independent chemical plants, we produce the para-aramid polymer that forms the basis of our high-performance Twaron® fiber. After drying, the polymer is packaged and transported to our large production site in Emmen, where it is spun into Twaron®.
Your Profile
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). With a few years of experience in a similar role, you are able to motivate people and effectively share knowledge with colleagues, internal clients and suppliers.
In addition, you bring:
- Solid experience working for or with a production organization, as well as experience leading projects
- Strong ability to act as the technical gatekeeper for delivered engineering work
- Proficiency in both English and Dutch, spoken and written
- Competencies that match the role: team player, strong organizational skills, independent and results-oriented

- Attractive salary – This position falls within salary scale 10 (€4,660 to €6,970 gross per month), depending on experience and education. A starting scale is possible.
