You play a key role in safeguarding and developing the Mechanical discipline within our maintenance organization. You hold hierarchical responsibility for the mechanical technicians and Coordinators.
You provide direction to the people, the further development and the safeguarding of this discipline, and you ensure clear frameworks within which work is carried out safely, consistently and to a high standard. The daily, functional supervision of the technicians lies with the Mechanical Technical Coordinator. In this role, the focus is on leadership, structure and direction, with room to make an impact at a tactical level.
You work closely with the Team Leader E/I, the Technical Coordinator, the Execution Coordinator and the Maintenance Manager. You report hierarchically to the Maintenance Manager and contribute significantly to the further professionalization of Maintenance.
What will you do?
- Ensure safe, controlled and consistent execution of maintenance activities
- Safeguard roles, responsibilities and working agreements within the Mechanical discipline
- Align capacity, priorities and bottlenecks with the Maintenance Manager
- Identify structural issues in staffing, competencies and organization
- Contribute actively to improving work processes and maintenance strategy
- Facilitate and support maintenance activities and shutdowns

Approximately 275 employees work at our Delfzijl site. Here, in four independent chemical plants, we produce the para-aramid polymer that forms the basis of our high performance Twaron® fiber. After drying, the polymer is packaged and transported to our large production site in Emmen, where it is spun into Twaron®.
Your profile
As a Mechanical Maintence Team Leader, you have at least a completed bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), preferably supplemented with training in leadership, coaching and team management. In addition:
- You have experience as a leader within a technical environment
- You are able to steer at a tactical level and maintain oversight
- You have strong command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
- You thrive in a dynamic and complex environment and can distinguish main issues from details
- You communicate clearly and set well defined expectations
- You have affinity with safety, maintenance processes and industrial environments
- You are a team player and a connector between departments within the company
