Conner Geml, Engineering Manager,
Continental Structural Plastics
Conner Geml joined Continental Structural Plastics in October 2016 as a product engineer, working on the General Motors team. In June 2019 he was promoted to engineering manager on the same team.
Prior to joining CSP, Geml worked for Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies first as a program development leader intern and later as a program development leader.
Geml has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Flint.
Alan Banks, UK Innovations Supervisor
Ford Motor Company
Alan Banks is the Lightweight Structures Supervisor at Ford Motor Company. His role is to reduce commercial vehicle weight for maximum efficiency.
Alan has led successful and ground-breaking projects such as CLASS and CHASSIS and is active in progressing composite materials into the mainstream arena. He has a Degree and Masters Degree from the University of Bradford and is a fellow of the IET and IKE.
Alan is a director of Composited UK and Chairman of the Automotive Composites Group and Composites Leadership Forum Automotive Division.
John McQuilliam, Director of Engineering, Prodrive
John is an experienced Engineering Manager with a successful track record of working in the Automotive and Motorsport industry. Skilled in Vehicle Dynamics, Structural design, Research and Development (R&D) and Composites, John is a strong engineering professional with a Master's Degree in Composite Materials from Imperial College.
Louise Goodman, Moderator
Louise Goodman is an award-winning TV presenter and journalist with over 25 years of media experience. Her childhood interest in motorsport was first sparked by the exploits of James Hunt and she has gone on to build a very successful career in this male-dominated and highly competitive arena.
Dubbed ‘the first woman of Formula One’ Louise made her name as part ITV’s Grand Prix presentation team and is currently co-presenting the channel’s live coverage of the British Touring Car Championship. Her skills extend way beyond reporting from the pit-lane though.
