Role and department

Teijin Aramid is a pioneering chemical manufacturing company and a market leader in its field. We take pride in what we produce: the super-strong, golden-yellow Twaron aramid, which makes countless products around the world safer, stronger, and more sustainable. The foundation for this fiber is laid at our production facility in Delfzijl. Further processing takes place at our plant in Emmen, which houses the world's largest aramid factory with 650 employees.

In recent years, significant investments have been made in Emmen in a future-proof plant, automated production processes, and staff development. Innovation, flexibility, customer orientation, results-oriented approach, and the ability to accelerate as a team have been elevated to core values. We are looking for matching management potential

As a Unit Leader Process, you are responsible for the operational progress of the production processes within the Process department. You are in charge of leading a team of approximately 14 operators working in a 5-shift schedule. Within the Process unit, there are two core processes. The preparation of spinning solution for the spinning mill takes place in the High-Rise Building. At Utilities, acid recycling is the core process. In addition to these core processes, there are numerous secondary processes that make the work challenging. In your role, you not only focus on the technical aspects but also on developing and encouraging essential soft skills within the team. You promote effective communication, strengthen teamwork and collaboration, and support the personal development of your team members.

At Teijin Aramid, as a Unit Leader, you enjoy a high degree of autonomy within the established agreements. This gives you the opportunity to guide both experienced and ambitious operators. Together with your fellow Unit Leaders, you create joint plans that realize the vision and strategy in the chemical plant. You are a colleague who invests in the leadership team of the future, with carefully developed programs aimed at well-trained operators. You are the one with the vision to look ahead and elevate the team to a higher level. In doing so, you contribute to the growth and development of your team members and ensure a healthy and productive working environment

  • You are clear in your expectations towards your employees, making decisions with attention to content, results, and relationships.
  • You focus on the development of your department and team, promoting active collaboration both within and outside the department.
  • You have a connective communication style, are curious, listen well, and ask questions.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the application of HSE procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of the production process, the equipment, and specific knowledge of applicable (HSE) procedures is an advantage.
