Assistant Controller

I work as an assistant controller for the Research & Development division. I prepare the financial reports, assist in budgeting, verify costs for this department and I am responsible for the projects administration. It is a responsible job. I started in a production environment in 1987. Among other things, I worked for 9 years as Operator A. At one point, I wanted to do something else, and I liked figures. I then started as an invoice auditor.

I joined Teijin in 2000 and have never regretted it for a minute. I have advanced to a cost accounting employee and in my position as assistant controller I now report the financial expenses for research. It is a lot of work, since there are constantly new projects and developments. This also means that no day is the same, which makes my work challenging and enjoyable every day.

Teijin Aramid is an excellent employer for me; I like the fact that we make such strong and innovative products. I also have the opportunity to develop myself here. There are many things that are well organized such as an excellent pension plan and full reimbursement for commuting by public transportation. I am also satisfied with my salary. I am proud of my own department; we managed to accomplish a lot over the past years and we are always ready to help each other. Teijin Aramid is a company with a good future and therefore is a stable employer. That is also important to me.

I can work very independently and have always had a lot of freedom and trust from my supervisors. Naturally, it is important to take your own initiative and come up with your own ideas. There is also opportunity for development within the team. What I really enjoy is working on a project with colleagues and learning from it. Like the major SAP implementation a number of years ago. You learn a tremendous amount from these projects and you grow along with the organization. I would like to continue to do that, at Teijin Aramid!
