Water

In the entire ecological footprint of our manufacturing processes, water is not a very dominant factor. However, over the past years we more and more realize that water is one of the most important, and one of the most undervalued resources in the world. Therefore, during the last couple of years the awareness grew that also we have to develop and execute plans to reduce our water consumption.

Over the last five years, we have measured water use at each of our production sites. In the graph below, you can see the water usage per ton of product. The bars show the total water use. In 2010, the water index per ton of product decreased at all locations. In the production processes, water was used more efficiently due to a better occupation degree of the installations. In the coming years, further improvements will be made and concrete targets will be formulated.
