The research organization of Teijin Aramid in Arnhem employs about 150 staff. Research is carried out to improve existing products and processes and to search for new technologies.
For the department of Organic Analysis Teijin Aramid is looking for an Intern in Organic analysis.
The department
The section Organic Analysis carries out research into and characterizes products obtained from the aramid process. Modern and sophisticated instruments in the fields of HPLC, GC, SEC (GPC) GC/MS, LC/MS, GC/IR/MS, IR and NMR are available in the section for this research. There are regular opportunities for internships and graduation assignments available within the section. The assignments in the fields of chromatography and spectroscopy are very varied. Sometimes an assignment is in the interface between these two techniques.
The assignment
Carrying out analytical chemistry research. This may be a specific piece of research but may also be the development of analytical chemical methods. As well as this there is also a concrete assignment: to develop a method for determining the amino or carboxyl end groups in Twaron. Organic chemistry must be combined with HPLC and spectroscopy (NMR or MS) for this multi-faceted assignment.
