Monomer Synthesis

The research organization of Teijin Aramid in Arnhem employs about 150 people. Research is carried out to improve existing products and processes and to develop new technologies.

For the department of Monomers & Polymers Teijin Aramid is looking for students who wish to do a Internship monomer synthesis and who are interested in organic chemistry.

The department

The department Monomers & Polymers in Arnhem performs research for the monomer/polymer production plants, which are located in Delfzijl. The monomers are the raw materials for making polymer from which Twaron® fiber is manufactured. Various topics are continuously available for a traineeship and/or graduation assignment.

The assignment(s)

In Delfzijl the monomers terephthaloyl-dichloride and p-phenylene diamine are produced. The emphasis of the internships may focus on development of new synthesis routes or optimization of the existing monomer production route, either experimental and/or theoretical. The definitive subject of the assignment will always be decided in consultation with the trainee.

Your profile

Students at HBO (University of Professional Education) and (Technical) Universities studying chemistry, organic chemistry may apply for the various posts.

Period

The next available internship may start from August 2012 onwards and has a minimum duration of four months.

Internship remuneration

An excellent remuneration dependent on education (on the basis of a 40-hour week).
