At our Delfzijl site, 270 technicians, process technologists and operators are working every day to produce the raw material for our acclaimed product Twaron®. The principal materials produced here are the monomers PPD and TDC. They are combined in a closed process, and react to form our unique aramid polymer. In a separate installation, the solvents are removed so they can be reused. After the polymer has been dried, it is packed and shipped to Teijin Aramid’s other large production site in Emmen, where it is spun into Twaron.
Since this is a unique chemical process, our Delfzijl site offers the ideal opportunity to learn more about and develop knowledge of polymerization and recovery. In this process, we place extra emphasis on sustainability, both for our people’s health and safety and for the environment.
We work with a training institute from the area to train our operators internally for recognized diplomas. While working shifts for us, you’ll also be completing your training. Within two years you’ll have your professional diploma as an operator.
Our production site is near the lively university town of Groningen. There are also many athletic, cultural and study opportunities in the area. Working for Teijin Aramid in Delfzijl means working in a division that is at the foundation of the company’s success.
