Main applications

Our products are mostly used to reinforce ropes and cables wherever safety and protection are essential, for example, in mining, offshore, and leisure industries. At Teijin Aramid, we are uniquely able to provide para-aramids suitable for both static and dynamic applications, and both Twaron and Technora offer distinct advantages in a wide range of applications, including:

Continuous development

The advantages of using Twaron and Technora can be optimized through the application of a range of surface treatments. For example, we have developed a marine finish that protects ropes or cables during long-term use in wet conditions. This finish will significantly increase the fatigue life and abrasion resistance of your rope and cable applications. We have also developed a waterblocking treatment which eliminates the need for additional protection covers to prevent water ingress. Besides optimizing our products by adding surface treatments, we are also heavily involved in creating additional value and customer benefits by moving with our products in new rope applications. Our dedication to high performance materials is again shown by the recent development of UHMwPE tape Endumax®. A combination of creativity and technical excellence is required, and most of these projects are done in co-development with other market parties.
